Chris Miller

Chris Miller of Themis Advocates has a mixed practice of Criminal and Civil Law, having represented clients in the High Court of Justiciary, the Court of Session, and the Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. He has a particular interest in Criminal Trials, Criminal Appeals, Extradition Proceedings, and Human Rights Law, as well as complex Personal Injury and Reparation cases including Fatal Accidents, Workplace Accidents, and Medical Negligence. Additionally, he has a keen interest in Internet Law, including the operation of Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Law, Media Law, as well as Privacy and Data Protection Law in Cyberspace. He has tutored extensively at the University of Strathclyde, as well as having delivered CPD and Training to academics and practitioners on both historic and contemporary issues in Scots Law. Examples of recently reported cases in which he has been instructed include McArthur and Others v Timberbush Tours and Others [2021] CSOH 75, and Hayes and Others v The Lord Advocate on behalf of the Government of the United States of America [2022] HCJAC 6.
