Roy Spiers - Director of Programmes

Roy is responsible for researching, designing and developing CLT’s Scottish CPD and TCPD content. Formerly a commercial property lawyer in private practice with one of Scotland’s leading law firms, Roy joined CLT in 2004 and during that time has produced over 2500 individual online and face-to-face legal education events.

In a rapidly changing economic, political and business environment, legal education plays a vital role. It is a privilege to support the Scottish legal and professional community by developing content that helps organisations and individuals provide best advice for their clients and meet both business and individual career needs.

Hugh Anderson McKnight - Director of Learning and Business Development

Hugh Anderson McKnight is Director of Learning and Business Development at Central Law Training, where he is responsible for Specialist Paralegal Qualifications throughout the UK.

He has worked in human resource development for over 20 years. Much of his career has been spent managing training functions and projects both in Europe and Asia; he has worked within the legal sector for the last 12 years.

Hugh has a research interest in professional competence and presented the paper ‘Professional Competence: can it be taught?' at the UK Centre for Legal Education's international conference. Hugh holds a Master's degree (awarded with distinction) in the Management of Training and Development from the University of Edinburgh and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
