Cyber-attacks are becoming more common and more sophisticated. It is not a case of whether you will be attacked, but when. Law firms are a target because of the information that they hold and the money that goes through their accounts.
The 6th Data Protection Principle under the UK GDPR requires organisations to take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of the personal data the hold. As our data is increasingly stored and transferred electronically we will explore what this principle means in relation to cybersecurity.
- What does data protection and other legislation say?
- Where can we find guidance on the standards that the Government, the ICO and others expect law firms to adhere to?
The webinar will also cover the NCSC Guidance available to law firms and tips in relation to cyber security; incident management and breach reporting, regulatory fines and compensation.
