Corporate finance can - at first sight - appear to be a daunting subject to get to grips with. In this session the key concepts are demystified and participants will be provided with a thorough (yet easy to understand) overview of the subject.
This virtual classroom will help participants to provide better and more commercially aware advice to their clients who require to raise finance for their companies.
After attending, participants will:
- understand the reasons why companies seek to raise equity and debt finance
- understand the concepts of leverage and gearing
- understand the differences between debt v. equity, loans v. bonds and public equity v. private equity
- develop knowledge of debt financing (including overdrafts, security, loans, subordination and debentures)
- develop knowledge of equity financing (including the different classes of share, issuing shares, financing stages, investor types and crowdfunding)
- understand the role of the investment banker
- understand key documentation and key clauses (what they are designed to do)
