This webinar looks at cross-border aspects of family law in the post-Brexit landscape.
It provides a recap of the implications of Brexit for the EU instruments which family lawyers made use of in cross-border cases – and considers the other international instruments, and pre-existing domestic legislation, which have now increased in importance in this field.
In particular, it will consider:
- divorce (and nullity) actions, in terms of both (i) jurisdiction in cross-border cases; and (ii) recognition and enforcement of decrees
- parental rights/responsibilities orders, in terms of both (i) jurisdiction in cross-border cases; and (ii) recognition and enforcement of judgments
- the enforcement of maintenance awards
