The purpose of an award of damages is to place an injured person in the same position as they would have been in had the accident not occurred. Damages are intended to be compensatory, but rather the client should be restored, so far as possible, to the position they would have been in but for the Negligent Act.
By the end of this webinar you should:
- have an understanding of the various heads of damages
- have references to the associated case law
- have an understanding of interest on damages
- understand the use of the medical report in a civil claim
- understand the way in which the Compensation Recovery Unit works, and its relevance in a civil claim
Please note that while Solicitors and Trainee Solicitors are welcome to attend, this session does not count as verifiable TCPD/CPD.
