Land Registration - the Act, the Plans, the Pitfalls

Starting from the beginning of a transaction we will fit each topic into the wider picture of achieving a successful registration for your clients. You will learn how to protect the transaction from any other sales, produce plans which will avoid rejection by the Keeper and deal with any inaccuracies in the Register.

We will also cover the debate over voluntary registration and the pitfalls of Keeper-induced registration so you can confidently advise your clients. Sometimes what your clients want to register does not agree with their legal title and we will examine how you can deal with that.

By the end of the course you will feel confident in dealing with a client’s transaction from start to finish and know that you will achieve the registration they want.

This course is designed for trainee solicitors to support the achievement of PEAT2 outcomes through substantive and relevant legal knowledge.
