The Digital Markets Act epitomises a new ambitious EU regime aiming to shape competition in digital markets by means of a sui generis regulatory toolkit. The marathon distance from the idea to the entry into force of the new rules has been passed with the speed of a sprinter and the new regime is now fully in operation and:
- the Commission has designated first gatekeepers
- the gatekeepers have published non-confidential summaries of their compliance reports
- the Commission has opened its first investigations into alleged non-compliance with the DMA obligations
- some of the gatekeepers have challenged their designation in the CJEU
- the public have benefited from 6 stakeholder compliance workshops co-organised by the Commission and gatekeepers
The dynamic of the development is remarkable.
The purpose of this webinar is to offer a condensed account of the latest developments alongside an analysis of the milestones characterising the new regime.
