Nicola Macara is an associate in Morton Fraser MacRoberts' employment law team. Having trained exclusively in employment law, after qualifying in 2015, Nicola sought to diversify her experience and expertise by working in the field of pursuer personal injury law, bringing claims in both the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court. She returned to work in employment law four years ago, realising her interests and passion lie in this diverse and complex area of law. She joined MFMac in October 2024. Nicola advises both employers and employees on various employment law issues, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, contract, disciplinary and grievance processes, and settlement agreements. She has represented clients at multi-day Employment Tribunal hearings involving unfair dismissal, discrimination, and breach of contract. She has good experience of resolving disputes both prior to a hearing and at judicial mediation.
