Karen McGill has specialised in employment law since qualifying as a solicitor in 1995 and was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Employment Law from 2003-2018. She was Head of Employment in a large Scottish commercial law firm before deciding to take steps to achieve a greater work/life balance. She now works part time for the University of Edinburgh teaching on the LLB and LLM courses, the undergraduate Managing Employment Law Course for Business Studies Students and the Employment Law Course on the MSc in Human Resources Management. She has her own consultancy business and undertakes HR investigatory work. Karen contributed the latest Employment Law Reissue to the Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia.
