Sandra McDonald was the Public Guardian for 14 years from 2004. Sandra is a trained nurse, former in-house legal advisor to an NHS Trust and was previously Director for Marie Curie Cancer Care in Edinburgh. As Public Guardian Sandra led a team of 80 delivering a service across the whole of Scotland to support as well as supervise those appointed to manage the affairs of people who are no longer mentally capable of doing so personally.
