David Hennessy is a Partner of Keoghs and a Solicitor Advocate. He has over 18 years of experience handling a wide variety of casualty claims. His core specialisms include workplace accidents, occupiers’ liability claims and industrial disease. David now leads one of the largest dedicated casualty teams in Scotland with a team of specialist lawyers working under his leadership and supervision. David regularly appears in the Court of Session and the All-Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court, and has an excellent track record. In 2016, he conducted the successful defence of a litigation following a fall on a ships ladder on-board a Royal Navy aircraft carrier under construction. This was the first published decision in an employers’ liability case in ASPIC. In this last year, David has also been at the forefront of strategic litigation for defender insurer clients around the new regime of Qualified One-Way Costs Shifting in Scotland. David is a key contributor to the work of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers in Scotland.
