Stuart Mackie is a key member of Thorntons Law LLP Private Client team. He has a broad experience base and advises individuals, families and corporate clients on a range of matters. Stuart advises clients on matters ranging from contentious private client disputes to succession advice, wills, powers of attorney, trusts and the administration of estates; and he regularly deals with contentious executries, contentious guardianship applications and other disputes arising from Private Client matters. Stuart successfully completed the STEP Diploma in Trusts & Estates in Scotland, with merit, in 2019. Stuart joined Thorntons in 2008 starting his legal career as a court lawyer. The six years experience he gained in this field mean he is well placed to deal with the ever increasing number of contentious matters arising in the Private Client field. Promoted to Partner in 2021, he now leads the Angus Private Client team at Thorntons and is also part of the team at Thorntons driving forward technical innovation in the Private Client field.
