Douglas Frood began his career as a Licensing Standards Officer with Falkirk Council in 2010 and in 2017 took up position as the Licensing Standards Officer for West Lothian Council where he continues to work. Douglas was the Chairman of the National Licensing Standards Officers group from 2012 until the summer of 2019 and he is currently a member of the Institute of Licensing.
