Alan Delaney

Alan Delaney is a Partner in Morton Fraser MacRoberts' highly rated employment law team. Alan has advised clients exclusively on employment law issues since July 2002, having trained with a niche employment law firm. He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in employment law and has appeared in employment tribunals across Scotland as well as the Employment Appeal Tribunal. He has also dealt with a number of high-value mediations. He advises clients across a range of sectors on all aspects of employment law, including complex disciplinary, grievance and discrimination law issues as well as collective redundancy situations, TUPE, contractual advice, restructuring, working time, minimum wage, trade union issues and industrial action. He has significant experience advising clients in relation to data protection, GDPR implementation and privacy-related issues. Alan has a masters degree (LLM) in Human Rights Law. He tutors and lectures postgraduate law students in employment law on the Diploma in Legal Practice at Edinburgh University and is regularly asked to speak and write on employment law issues. Alan is also on the Board of Fathers Network.
