Denise Smith practised in the field of civil litigation for over 13 years, several of which were spent managing a busy Sheriff Court civil agency practice. Latterly, she was an Associate with an award–winning specialist Family Law Team in a top-tier full-service firm. In 2014, she was appointed as a fee-paid UK Tribunal Judge (Social Entitlement Chamber). In 2020 Denise also became a fee paid Legal Convenor of the First Tier Tribunal for Scotland assigned to its Social Entitlement Chamber. In 2022 her judicial remit was extended to the Scottish Local Taxation Chamber. Denise is trained in Mentoring, Collaborative Family Law and in 2013 was awarded a Post Graduate Certificate with distinction in Mediation and Conflict Resolution by the University of Strathclyde. She has been creating and delivering TCPD for CLT for over 10 years.
