Professor Gerry Maher KC has held academic posts at the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde, and is currently Professor of Criminal Law at Edinburgh University. He has written extensively on many areas of Scots Law. From 2000 to 2008 he was a Scottish Law Commissioner. He became a member of the Faculty of Advocates in 1987, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2003.
