Gemma Baillie leads McLean & Stewart alongside Hazel Langan, driving the firm’s strategic direction. Recognised for excellence and leadership in her field, Gemma was awarded the “Achievements in Law” title at the 2023 Scottish Women’s Awards and named Modern Law Firm Businesswoman of the Year 2024 (Scotland). Gemma is also a former member of the Law Society’s Professional Practice Subcommittee. Gemma advises individuals and businesses on a range of legal matters, with extensive experience in agricultural and rural law. Gemma specialises in future planning, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Trusts. Gemma is a Trustee for the Sophie North Charitable Trust which raises money for children’s diseases, hospices, breast cancer, care of the terminally ill and charities involved with conflict resolution. Gemma is also Company Secretary for the Dunblane Centre, a community space created as a legacy to those lost in the Dunblane tragedy. Additionally, Gemma provides pro bono advice to startups through STEP.
